Blue Sky and sun all day. You could have taken it for a Spring day until you went out side.
And it was so bitter, the cold frost had not lifted.
But I still went out with my camera and have posted some photos below.
My 1st snowdrops of 2012.
This is my Goldflimmer Rhododendron which has been in my garden about 6 years now and it is full of buds.
I so love the variegated leaves. The foliage is a pleasure all year round and soon will delight with stunning blooms.
Cunningham White. This one was new to my garden last year. I am now waiting patiently for new blooms.
My Daphne is now in bud and the perfume is truly amazing.
I sometimes take a small piece indoors and its like an instant air freshener.
As I strolled further, getting colder as I walked, I notice my spring bulbs are starting to show already. Normally my snowdrops are first and then my aconites. This year it is looking like I shall have all my spring bulbs blooming at same time.
And here is one of my new Peony Roses just starting to show.
A bud starting to show on my new white Tree Peony or it may just be a new leaf. I know it took 5 years for my last yellow one to come into bloom, so I won’t get my hopes up too much.
It is amazing to see the soil cracking as the spring bulbs are pushing the soil apart. I have never seen this happen before and it is still only January!

My raised bed is full of spring bulbs and the next time you see this photo it will be a mass of blooms.
By this time I was so cold I needed to come indoors to get cosy.
Inside, I took a photo of 2 of my geraniums that are in bloom.
